Group training or personal training: which should you choose?
Ludus Magnus training guide · 6 min read · Updated
The short answer
Choose group training when you want a structured programme, community and regular class schedule. Choose personal training when you need more individual planning, technique time or scheduling flexibility. Small-group PT sits between the two, combining tailored coaching with a group you organise.
Coach-led group training
Group classes provide a shared session structure and the accountability of training alongside other members. A coach explains the work and adjusts movement options, while the programme continues across training blocks.
This suits people who enjoy community, can train at scheduled class times and want a balanced approach without designing every session themselves.
One-to-one personal training
Personal training gives the coach more time to focus on your movement, goals, feedback and progression. It can suit specific performance goals, confidence building, technique development or people whose schedule does not match regular classes.
Small-group personal training
Small-group PT is available for groups of two to six. You organise the group and share the coaching session, while the coach adjusts the work for each person. It works well for friends, families, workmates or teammates with a common reason to train.
You can combine formats
The choice does not need to be permanent. Some members use group classes for their regular training and add personal training for a specific movement, event or period of focused work. Contact the team if you want help comparing the current options.
